Horsefly Films is the production label of Athens based independent film producer Yorgos Tsourgiannis. Since its inception, Horsefly has produced award winning feature and short films. Horsefly is committed to nurturing young directing, scriptwriting and producing talent, being actively involved in international co productions in both a majority and minority capacity and bringing unique films closer to international audiences.

Bringing over two decades of production experience in film, combined with a wide international network, consistent presence with national funding institutions and strong ties with local talent and facilities, Horsefly Films is able to service the needs of international productions ranging from script and development consultation, to shooting and through to post-production.

Yorgos Tsourgiannis, Founder and Producer

Yorgos Tsourgiannis is an independent film producer and the founder and managing director of the Athens-based production label Horsefly Films. He has produced and co-produced acclaimed films by directors such as Efthimis Kosemund Sanidis, Emin Alper, Hana Jusić, Michalis Konstantatos, Yiannis Veslemes, and Yorgos Lanthimos. He is a member of the ACE Producers Network since 2010, is an alumnus of EFP Producers on the Move, and a member of both the Hellenic and European Film Academies.

Manos Tzivakis, Junior Producer

Manos Tzivakis joined Horsefly Films in 2021, and has since been involved in the company’s ongoing projects, including Dear Future by Christiana Chiranagnostaki (2026), Salvation by Emin Alper (2026), God Will Not Help by Hana Jusic (2025), the 14-hour documentary Exergue – on documenta 14 by Dimitris Athiridis (2024) and God Will Not Help by Hana Jusic (2025) among others, as well working on the company’s current slate in development. He is an alumnus of the post-production lab APostLab, Sarajevo Talents and Sarajevo Producers Lab.
